I noticed a number of what we used to call bubble cars for sale in the Brooklands Historics Auction at the end of this month.  I can never spell Mesh—- t (after german WW2 planes) but there are some  other models and makes for sale too.

I did meet a guy at Southern Classics car show  at Chichester College in September, who has one for sale and has rebuilt five. I will dig out the photo. I think it is a two seater and about £13k in an orange red

There’s a 70’s VW golf and P6 Rover as well as the usual zillion pound cars.

Entry is gained by purchasing the catalogue when you arrive at the marquee, which usually admits two and did used to cost £25. In the morning they auction motor related auto such as racing prints and regalia, esso signs etc and the cars after lunch.

Make the most of the day and visit the Motor Museum too as you will be on site anyway. Maybe even pop onto concord but there is an additional fee for that.

Brooklands Museum is at the old Brooklands Racetrack  near Mercedes World. Twenty minute walk from Weybridge Station or New Haw.

You can still see the shrapnel hole in the steel girders where it came under fire during WW2 when it also functioned as an airport.

You will also see the Lancaster bomber rescued from a deep loche in Scotlands killing all on board during WW2. Restored by volunteers over many years.
